Flexographic/Gravure
- Modified cellulosic, alcohol-based inks for flexographic or gravure processes.
- All are formulated to allow flexibility at press-side for diluent/drying rate adjustment.
NT04 System: Labels, coupons, adhesive tattoos, and other in-package inserts and premiums where the ink will be in contact with food, pharmaceutical or medical products. All types of FDA acceptable uncoated and coated papers, surgical grade kraft, grease-proof stocks such as WOGR and vegetable parchment glassine, nitrocellulose coated cellophane (when properly modified), shellac coated foils and some other specific plastic films.
NT05 System: Modified acrylic polymers specifically designed for use on styrene films used for meat and poultry labels and inserts. For Saran (Dow Chemical, USA) (PVDC) or acrylic coated polypropylene and foils used for candy bar wrappers and similar applications.
NT14 System: Specifically designed for printing onto films such as PVC, polystyrene, polyurethane and acrylic or PVDC coated polyolefins which will come into direct contact with food, drug products or are parts of medical devices or medical packaging.
NT15 System: Specially modified co-solvent polyamide designed for printing on in-line treated low, medium or high density polyethylene and polypropylene films. Can also be used on Tyvek (DuPont, USA), polyesters, Saran (PVDC), nylon, many cellophanes and most paper stocks.
NT20 System: Specially modified co-solvent polyamide designed to provide heat resistance when printed in the heat seal area of corona treated polyolefin films. Resists softening or smudging at heat sealing temperatures and pressures normally used to seal polyolefin films (low, medium and high density polyethylenes and polypropylenes). Can also be used on Tyvek polyesters, nylon, Saran ( (PVDC), some cellophanes and most paper stocks.
NT21 System: Water reducible, specially modified alkali-soluble polymer. Labels, coupons, promotions and other in-package inserts which will be in contact with dry food, pharmaceutical or medical products. Selected formulas are available for use on coffee, tea filters and pouch papers. Some colors are not recommended for contact with aqueous or fatty foods because of poor water and bleed resistance compared to solvent inks. If use in contact with aqueous or fatty food is anticipated, thorough end-use testing should be completed before use.
NT23 System: Water reducible, modified acrylic polymer. Can be used on all types of FDA acceptable uncoated/coated papers, WOGR, Tyvek, polyethylene, polypropylene, acrylic and Saran (PVDC) coated polypropylenes, some cellophanes, Mylar (Dupont Teijin Films, USA) and aluminum foils. If printed material is to be used in contact with aqueous or fatty foods, thorough end-use testing should be completed in advance. Contact our Technical Service Department for additional information and assistance.
NT23A System: Modified aqueous acrylic polymers. An FDA and low VOC overprint lacquer system designed to provide high gloss, excellent abrasion resistance and superior grease resistance properties to litho printed products. These coatings can also be used to provide similar properties over solvent and aqueous applied flexo and gravure printed inks. All types of FDA acceptable uncoated and coated paper and board, including greaseproof stocks such as OGR and vegetable parchment, as well as treated polyolefins and many other plastic stocks.
NT23AM System: Specially modified water-based antimicrobial coating, designed to provide good adhesion and antimicrobial properties to a variety of substrates including FDA acceptable uncoated / coated papers, Tyvek, corona treated PE & PP, corona-treated polystyrene, nylon, Saran, acrylic and Saran (PVDC) coated PP, some cellophanes, Mylar and aluminum foils. Can be applied to various packaging applications in direct contact with foods, pharmaceuticals or medical products requiring anti-microbial properties.
NT23BR System: Water reducible modified acrylic polymer-based inks for all types of FDA acceptable coated and uncoated papers, Tyvek, corona treated PE & PP, corona treated polystyrene, acrylic and Saran (PVDC) coated PP, some cellophanes, Mylar and aluminum foils.
NT25 System: Cellulosic modified acrylic specifically designed for use on styrene films used for meat and poultry labels and for Saran (PVDC) or acrylic coated polypropylene films and foils used for candy bar wrappers and similar applications. NT25 series inks provide superior heat and product (chocolate bar) resistance compared to NT15 series inks, at the expense of slightly poorer scotch tape adhesion.
NT33 System: Specially modified alcohol-soluble food grade polymer for synthetic and natural meat casings, labels, coupons, promotions and other in-package inserts where food grade or ultra low toxicity components are desired. Some colors may not be able to be provided in a completely food grade system. Also, some colors are not recommended for contact with aqueous and fatty foods because of poor water and bleed resistance properties. If use in contact with aqueous or fatty foods is anticipated, thorough end-use testing should be completed before use in production runs.
